Green property show begins

Hyderabad The Indian Green Building Council (IGBC), a part of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), is organising the first edition of IGBC Green Property Show at the HITEX Exhibition Centre in the city, with the support of the Telangana government. The three-day event will be held on July 28-30, 2023, showcasing green residential properties, along with building products, services and technologies.

“This property show will be a great platform to showcase some of the best sustainable and eco-friendly living spaces that Hyderabad has to offer so that residents can explore and invest in smart and resilient choices while contributing to a greener tomorrow, not just for them but for future generations to come,” C Shekar Reddy, Chairman of CII-Telangana & IGBC Hyderabad Chapter, told Bizz Buzz.

He said: “Our primary objective is to bring in greater awareness among the general populace on the importance of choosing green rated projects over conventional offerings, the immense benefits this will provide them with and how they can contribute to sustainability, conserving natural resources and reduce environmental impacts.”

More than 75 exhibitors are presenting sustainable properties, products and services at over 4,200-sqm space. The expo facilitates meaningful connections between developers and environmentally conscious property buyers. Only IGBC-certified and pre-certified projects will be promoted in the expo. The event is likely to bring awareness among public on green buildings concepts, environment and climate change.

“The IGBC wants to involve all stakeholders of the real estate and construction industry in this expo. About 20-25 organisations associated with this industry will take part in this event. The associations of architects, interior designers, property consultancies and all government departments also participate in the property show,” Shekar Reddy informed.

Ar Srinivasa Murthy G, Co-Chairman, IGBC Hyderabad Chapter, said: “By making environmentally conscious choices for their home such as choosing IGBC-rated green homes, property owners and occupants can enjoy tangible benefits such as reduced maintenance costs, energy and water consumption, as well as intangible benefits like improved occupant well-being and a healthier lifestyle.”
