Hyderabad: The National Real Estate Development Council (Naredco) has announced the election of G Hari Babu as its new President. Also, Niranjan Hiranandani has taken over as Chairman and Rajan Bandelkar as Vice Chairman of the apex real estate body. Naredco under the aegis of Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs, Government of India, and plays a pivotal role in shaping the real estate landscape in the country.

Hari Babu had previously served as President of APREDA (Andhra Pradesh Real Estate Developers Association) for four years. He is a distinguished figure in the real estate industry, bringing with him over 45 years of experience. His dedication to the sector and exemplary leadership skills were instrumental in the transformation of APREDA into Naredco AP, where he continued as President for four more years.

During his tenure, Hari Babu played a pivotal role in expanding Naredco AP, with the establishment of 12 chapters and the enrolment of over 1,200 members. Currently, he holds the esteemed position of Chairman for the Andhra Pradesh Chapter of Naredco, while also serving as an advisor within Naredco Telangana and as the President-elect for Naredco National.

Hari Babu's renowned career spans a diverse range of projects, including residential, commercial, industrial developments, and hospitality projects. He has been a driving force behind all aspects of the real estate business, from initial planning and design to construction and sales.

On the occasion, he said: "The real estate sector in India is poised for tremendous growth, and I am committed to ensuring that Naredco plays a central role in fostering this development. We will focus on sustainable and inclusive growth, while continuing to prioritize innovation, transparency, and excellence in all our endeavours. Welcoming the new President, Niranjan Hiranandani, Chairman of Naredco stated, “Naredco will continue to facilitate a two-way communication between industry and government to propel policy, sustainable development, and perpetual growth. The new leadership team will continue to harness industry voice and foster new development avenues under the aegis of Naredco.”

Rajan Bandelkar, Vice Chairman of Naredco also welcomed the newly elected President, "We are excited to welcome Hari Babu as the new President of Naredco National. His wealth of experience and vision will undoubtedly lead us to new heights in the real estate industry. We look forward to working closely with him and achieving our shared goals of sustainable development and excellence."

Hari Babu's journey in the business world commenced in the late 1970s, marked by his involvement in residential and industrial layout development, gated community construction, and entry into the manufacturing industry. He established POWMEX Steel's Limited in Titilagarh, Odisha, a company that received widespread acclaim, with subscriptions exceeding 18 times the public issue.

In 1992, he ventured into the Telugu film industry, garnering recognition for his productions and direction, receiving several prestigious awards from the government of Andhra Pradesh. In 2005, he expanded his horizons into the hospitality industry with the creation of Lahari Resorts, a project that set new benchmarks for quality and eco-friendliness.

In his latest endeavor, Hari Babu has acquired 1,000 acres of land in Andhra Pradesh, where he plans to develop senior citizen homes, a sports academy, a resort hotel, and various other projects, reaffirming his commitment to sustainable development and community welfare.

Hari Babu's achievements extend beyond the real estate sector, as he has earned accolades for his contributions to horticulture, tourism, and the film industry, further underscoring his multifaceted talents and dedication to excellence.
