FTCCI, LVPEI hold seminar on “Eyes- Your Windows to the World”

Hyderabad The Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FTCCI) in association with LV Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI) has organised a study tour followed by seminar on "Eyes – Your Windows to the World" at Patodia Auditorium, LV Prasad Eye Institute here.

Dr Rohit C Khanna, Network Director, Public Health Ophthalmologist, LVPEI, said that the need to study and define successful models of care delivery systems had become increasingly important. LVPEI had a unique eye care delivery system offering rich lessons at many operational levels. The system had been developed on the basis of LVPEI's foundational public eye health study, and followed a complexity-driven clinical care system forming a five-tier pyramidal model. As a result, the institute had achieved a level of scale, efficiency, social impact, and clinical and scientific innovation rarely seen in a single health system. LVPEI had seamlessly established successful professional, academic, and educational systems that combine innovation, scientific discovery, and the development of in-house technologies focused on improving service quality and clinical decision-making.

"FTCCI Expert Committee on Health care and Disaster Management has played an active role to face the challenges during Covid-19 pandemic, submitted the number of representations to concerned ministries and officials and also conducted number of webinars with the Health experts from Central and State Government," said, K Bhasker Reddy, President, FTCCI.

LV Prasad Institute is a World Health Organisation collaborating centre for prevention of blindness, with one of the best comprehensive eye health facilities in the world, served about 31 million people, with more than fifty per cent free of cost. The institute's long-standing and strategic support has brought quality healthcare services within the reach of underserved people in India.
