ReNew To Set Up Rs 22K-cr RE Project In AP

Amaravati: In a landmark moment for India’s renewable energy (RE) sector, ReNew is set to re-enter Andhra Pradesh with a Rs22,000 crore investment to develop the country’s largest single-site renewable energy complex in Anantapur. The State Government made an official announcement in this regard on Wednesday.
The breakthrough came following a strategic meeting between the Minister for IT, Electronics and Communications Nara Lokesh and Sumant Sinha, Chairman & CEO of ReNew, during the World Economic Forum at Davos. This high-level engagement paved the way for ReNew return, ending a six-year investment pause in the State, an official release stated.
The project is proposed at Bethapalle village in Guntakal constituency with a total investment of Rs22,000 crore. The Phase-1 envisages generating 587-MW solar, 250-MW wind and 415-MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). It will have a combined capacity cumulatively in all phases to an extent of 1800 MWp solar, 1-GW wind, 2000 MWh BESS.
This is the first major project under the Integrated Clean Energy (ICE) Policy, introduced by the Andhra Pradesh Government in October 2024, offering structured incentives and fast-track approvals for clean energy investments.
