CHENNAI — Flipkart announced on Monday that it will hire over ★ 2.2 lakh people across India ahead of the festive shopping season, with a strong focus on diversity and inclusion.
The Walmart-owned e-commerce giant said that 10% of the new roles will be reserved for women, specially-abled individuals, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community. The hiring drive will strengthen operations in 28 states as Flipkart scales its supply chain, technology deployment, and infrastructure.
Freshers, Last-Mile Reach, and Job Roles → Key Highlights
♦ 15% of hires will be freshers, taking up roles such as pickers, packers, sorters, and delivery executives.
♦ New recruits will be placed in warehousing, delivery, team leadership, and customer experience verticals.
♦ Flipkart plans to set up 650 additional delivery hubs in tier-2 and tier-3 cities, including Siliguri, Kundli, and Jakhar, to improve last-mile connectivity.
Upskilling Initiatives → Supply Chain Training Push
Through its Supply Chain Operations Academy (SCOA), Flipkart aims to upskill 10,000 associates by end-2025. So far, over 6,000 college students have received training in supply chain operations via a mix of classroom and digital modules.
Strategic Festive Season Preparation
The massive hiring is part of Flipkart’s annual ramp-up to meet increased festive demand. By strengthening manpower, delivery hubs, and tech systems, the company hopes to ensure faster fulfillment and a smoother customer experience during India’s busiest shopping months.
