Visakhapatnam: Skill Development Institute (SDI) funded by public sector oil companies in collaboration with DeepTech Naipunya Foundation (DTNF) has decided to launch a Train and Hire Program called ‘IT/ITeS Employability Skills Training (ITEST) with placement’ to provide necessary skills training to prospective candidates in the field of Business Process Management (BPM) in skill development.

DTNF organised a meeting with the hiring heads of all the key BPO Players of Vizag like WNS, PATRA India BPO, Tech Mahindra, Concentrix, Conduent, FedServ, Med RCM, Pro-Vigil, Maplesoft, Precistat, Venture Offshore and TekWissen to finalise the modalities of the program. At a meeting here after signing an MoU officials from both the organisations discussed to start two pilot batches by October 10, aimed at improving the job quotient of youth to become job-ready for IT and ITeS industry.

The MoU was signed between DeepTech Naipunya Foundation and SDI in the presence of prominent hiring heads of IT companies in the city. The aim was to create a vibrant IT/ITeS skilling ecosystem in Andhra Pradesh in general and Vizag in particular.

SDI, Visakhapatnam, has made a significant investment exceeding 15 crores and is on the verge of commencing operations at their new campus near RTC complex. They are developing state-of-the-art infrastructure and training facilities at their new center.

DTNF is primarily focused on creating vibrant skilling and innovation ecosystems, its chairman and MD of Nimaisoft, Sreedhar Kosaraju, told Bizz Buzz on Thursday. He said “We enable skilling ecosystems and work to bridge the gap between academia and industry through various initiatives, including faculty consulting, faculty exchange, faculty development, industry exchange programs, industry internships and curriculum development.”

He said they are keen to collaborate with corporates and industries to identify talent gaps and partner with various skilling agencies to facilitate the required skilling, thereby helping to create employment opportunities for the unemployed and offer skilling, upskilling and reskilling programs for students in emerging and niche technologies, empowering them as deeptech developers and innovators.

“We wish to nurture and develop an entrepreneurial mindset and foster innovation among students, startups, employees and companies through various activities and establish incubation centers to nurture startups working on innovative products, services, and processes,” Kosaraju said.

Explaining about their objectives, he said they will build acceleration programs for startups across India, providing them with a mentor network, market access, funding connections, and support. “We will make efforts to set up research and development centers, centers of excellence and labs focused on technologies to assist startups and MSMEs in driving their innovation,” he stated.
