Mumbai, Sep 28Today, when environmental consciousness and sustainability have become major global concerns, the EV transition has emerged as the need of the hour.

This very point was highlighted by our Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the recent annual convention of the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM).He even encouraged the auto industry to prioritize decarbonization and continue the manufacturing of vehicles with a wide range of advanced technologies, says Vineet Singh, Co-founder, Gauss Moto.

Today, we have vehicles running on alternative technologies like ethanol, flex-fuel, CNG, bio-CNG, hybrid electric, electric and hydrogen. There is a dire need to sustain such concerted efforts to reduce carbon emissions and our country’s dependence on oil imports. Electric mobility can help achieve these goals and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, promote cleaner transportation options, and even enhance the overall quality of life in urban and rural areas while ensuring a swift transition to renewable energy sources. To facilitate the seamless EV transition, we need to develop a mobility system that is sustainable and in harmony with the environment. And this can happen only with a collaborative, multifaceted approach from the government, businesses, communities and individuals, he said.
