Company Secretaries' 13th regional meet held

The ICSI SIRC with the support of the ICSI Hyderabad Chapter organised its 13th Regional practicing company secretaries conference here for the benefit of company secretaries and discussed the new IPOs raised by the companies, especially in Telangana and also discussed the detailed process and opportunities in IPOs.

Hyderabad: The ICSI SIRC with the support of the ICSI Hyderabad Chapter organised its 13th Regional practicing company secretaries conference here for the benefit of company secretaries and discussed the new IPOs raised by the companies, especially in Telangana and also discussed the detailed process and opportunities in IPOs.

The conference noted that during the last year alone there were more than 5 successful IPOs in Hyderabad and another 5 are in the pipeline.

The conference in the presence of VR Badrinath Nandula, Member Judicial NCLT, Hyderabad Bench, and Josekutty VE, Registrar of Companies, Hyderabad dwelt upon the role of company secretaries in the capital markets in making successful IPOs.

Badrinath said that the company secretaries should be honest, sincere and maintain transparency at all times to protect the interest of the corporates and stakeholders. He further added that company secretaries should protect dharma and dharma will protect them back.

The ICSI entered into an MoU with Telangana University in the presence of Prof D Ravinder, Vice-Chancellor, Telangana University for the benefit of students of the State.

Ravinder was appreciative of the government support to the university.

CS Nagendra D Rao, ICSI President, has stated the various recognitions attained for the company secretary profession under SEBI laws and company secretary should make synergies with regulators and other professionals to achieve success.

CS Navajyoth Puttaparthi, Chairman, ICSI Hyderabad Chapter, emphasised the current scenario of IPOs and stated that IPOs are an attractive investment in today's scenario. He further thanked all the delegates who have come from all over South India and made the conference a grand success.

Students who have done exceedingly well in the recent company secretary examinations were given prizes. Around 150 company secretary members, academicians, students, and other professionals attended the program from all over south India.
