New Delhi: In a bid to streamline the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan in the Green sector, the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE) has taken several steps, including the setting up of a cell in the Ministry for the works related to the project.

The MNRE has also decided that the renewable energy (RE) projects of 50MW and above undertaken by renewable energy implementing agencies (REIA) will be mapped on the PM-Gati Shakti portal, official sources told Bizz Buzz.

The projects taken up by States’ schemes and tenders would be mapped by States on their respective portals, which will be linked to the national portal. Data uploading is scheduled to be complete by March 23. Projects on the national portal will be uploaded by the respective REIAs, which are Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd (SECI), NHPC, and NTPC. The projects on States’ portals will be uploaded by the respective state designated agencies.

The National Institute of Wind Energy has geo-tagged data of about 32-GW wind project projects, so it will upload all such projects through the Gati Shakti Cell.

The Gati Shakti Cell and the Bhaskaracharya National Institute for Space Applications and Geo-informatics (Bisag-N) will upload the resource map of solar radiation and wind speed on the portal.

State transmission utilities will map all intra-state transmission infrastructure on the States’ portals in coordination with the Union Ministry of Power. To avoid duplication with the Green Energy Corridor (GEC) infrastructure, the transmission projects related with the GEC would be mapped by States on their portals with a distinct color coding so that they could be added on the national portal.

Representatives of the Gati Shakti Cell cross check the authenticity of the data. After verification of the date by the cell, it would be sent to Bisag-N for uploading. Bisag-N will also link States’ portals with the national portal in coordination with the Gati Shakti Cell. The Gati Shakti Cell, in coordination with REIAs and the NIWE, will check the uploaded data and remove what is unnecessary.

After all the existing projects are mapped, the above procedure of uploading, verification, and approving would be done every month.
