On the First Day of the Festival, October 27: Being a religious occasion, banks will not operate in Kolkata, Patna, and Ranchi.

Among other things, the devotees observe fasting, offer prayers, and make trips to rivers for dipping, all in the name of thanks for good health, riches, and well-being. The event is of the utmost importance in places like Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh and even in some parts of Nepal.

🇮🇳 Bank Holiday for Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s Birthday

On the last working day of the week, October 31: All the banks will not work in Ahmedabad to observe the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the first Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister of India.

Bengaluru: Banks will be closed in observance of Kannada Rajyothsava, celebrating the creation of the state of Karnataka.

Dehradun: Banks will be closed for Igas Bagwal, a festival which comes 11 days after Diwali in Uttarakhand, representing happiness and freshness.

📅 Will Banks Be Open on November 1, 2025?

Since the first day of November is a Saturday, most of the banks in India will be operating, except for Bengaluru and Dehradun which are celebrating regional holidays. According to RBI regulations, banks are closed on all Sundays and the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of the month.
