The Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) official holiday schedule for August 2025 states that banks will be closed for at least 15 days, including weekends, regional festivals, and national holidays.
During this month, all Sundays, the second and fourth Saturdays, and major festivals including Janmashtami, Ganesh Chaturthi, Raksha Bandhan, and Independence Day (August 15) are closed.
Although dates may differ by state depending on local celebrations and regional festivals, these holidays are applicable to both public and private sector banks. If a customer has an urgent banking need or plans to visit on a long weekend, they should check with their local branch to confirm particular closures.

Is It Possible to Use Banking Services on Holidays?
Yes. Online banking, ATMs, UPI, and mobile apps will continue to operate normally even while physical branches will be closed. On the other hand, the Negotiable Instruments Act prohibits processing transactions involving promissory notes and checks on holidays.
