DGCA directs Vistara to submit daily flight disruption reports

On August 1, Vistara will launch a new flight service connecting Agartala and Bengaluru, according to an official announcement made on Wednesday. The introduction of this service aims to provide additional travel options for passengers on the Agartala-Bengaluru route, which is currently served by Indigo and Akasa airlines with three flights daily.

The director of Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport, KC Meena, shared that Vistara's flight will operate directly from Bengaluru to Agartala. On its return journey, the flight will pass through Guwahati before reaching Bengaluru again. This routing arrangement is expected to be beneficial for flyers, offering them more convenient travel opportunities.

Chief Minister Manik Saha had previously appealed to the Civil Aviation Minister, Jyotiraditya Scindia, to increase the number of flights on the Agartala-Bengaluru route. The announcement of Vistara's entry into the market addresses this request, bringing more competition and potentially enhancing connectivity options for travelers.

Currently, Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport facilitates around 4,500 passengers per day and hosts operations for four airlines, which collectively offer approximately 34-36 flights daily. The introduction of Vistara's service will likely contribute to the growth of flight operations at the airport, providing passengers with increased flexibility and choices when planning their journeys between Agartala and Bengaluru.

Overall, Vistara's upcoming flight service between Agartala and Bengaluru, scheduled to commence on August 1, demonstrates the airline's commitment to expanding its network and catering to the rising demand for air travel on this route. It is expected to positively impact the overall aviation landscape in the region, benefiting both passengers and the local economy.
