On July 17, 2025, an IndiGo Airbus A320neo operating flight 6E‑5118 from Delhi to Imphal made a precautionary return to Delhi shortly after takeoff, following a minor technical issue. The airline confirmed that no injuries or onboard complications were reported, emphasizing that the aircraft landed safely under pilot supervision.
This marks the second operational disruption within 24 hours—just one day after flight 6E‑6271 from Delhi to Goa diverted to Mumbai due to an engine malfunction, prompting the crew to issue a "PAN PAN PAN" alert before safely landing. Although the Goa incident stopped short of a full emergency, both events underscore IndiGo’s adherence to safety protocols.
A spokesperson reiterated IndiGo’s commitment to safety, stating that thorough technical inspections are underway and that operations will continue only once full system integrity is confirmed. The airline also assured customers that alternate arrangements are being made to minimize disruption.
