Akasa Air has recently experienced the cancellation of 10 flights over a span of two days, which the airline has labeled as an "aberration." Although the specific reasons for these cancellations were not disclosed by the airline, insider sources suggest that a shortage of trained pilots may be to blame. However, Akasa Air has firmly denied any shortage of pilots.

Responding to concerns raised by various social media users regarding the flight cancellations, an airline spokesperson characterized the situation as an anomaly, expressing apologies for any inconvenience caused. The spokesperson confirmed that a total of 10 flights were cancelled within the specified timeframe.

According to insider sources, the airline is reportedly facing challenges in securing adequate slots for pilot training, which has led to a perceived shortage of trained pilots. Nonetheless, Akasa Air's CEO, Vinay Dube, has refuted these claims, stating that the airline is adequately staffed with over 600 pilots, a number sufficient to operate a fleet twice the size of its current one.

Despite the recent disruptions, Akasa Air remains committed to its expansion plans, having commenced operations in August 2022.
