TVS Motor Company reports record sales and profitability in FY2024-25

TVS Motor Company has marked its highest-ever sales and profitability in the financial year 2024-25, achieving remarkable growth across all key financial metrics. The company’s revenue surged to ₹36,251 crore, a 14% increase from ₹31,776 crore in FY2023-24. This growth was supported by a strong performance in electric vehicle (EV) sales, which saw a 44% year-on-year rise.
Operating EBITDA for the year climbed to ₹4,466 crore, with an improved EBITDA margin of 12.3%, up by 120 basis points compared to the previous year. Profit Before Tax (PBT) grew by 31%, reaching ₹3,629 crore, while Profit After Tax (PAT) stood at ₹2,711 crore, a 30% increase from ₹2,083 crore in FY2023-24. In Q4 alone, TVS Motor’s revenue grew by 17%, reaching ₹9,550 crore, compared to ₹8,169 crore in Q4 of the previous year.
TVS Motor Company also registered its highest-ever quarterly operating EBITDA of ₹1,333 crore in Q4, up from ₹926 crore in the same period last year. Profit Before Tax for Q4 surged to ₹1,112 crore, up significantly from ₹672 crore in Q4 2023-24. The operating EBITDA margin for the quarter stood at 14%, boosted by the recognition of the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) benefits for the full year, contributing to an adjusted margin of 12.5% (excluding the PLI benefit).
Sales Performance Highlights for FY2024-25
In FY2024-25, TVS Motor’s total sales of two-wheelers and three-wheelers grew by 13%, reaching 47.44 lakh units, compared to 41.91 lakh units the previous year. Motorcycle sales increased by 10%, reaching 21.95 lakh units, while scooter sales grew by 21%, totaling 19.04 lakh units. Electric vehicle sales soared by 44%, with TVS selling 2.79 lakh EVs, up from 1.94 lakh units in FY2023-24. Three-wheeler sales, however, saw a slight decline, dropping to 1.35 lakh units from 1.46 lakh units.
Exports also contributed significantly to the company’s growth. In Q4, total sales, including exports, increased by 14% to 12.16 lakh units, compared to 10.63 lakh units in Q4 of the previous year. Motorcycle sales grew by 10% to 5.64 lakh units, scooter sales jumped 27% to 5.02 lakh units, and EV sales saw a remarkable 54% increase, reaching 0.76 lakh units. Additionally, three-wheeler sales in Q4 rose by 21%, totaling 0.37 lakh units.
