Toyota Hikes Prices for Fortuner, Legender SUVs in India

Toyota Kirloskar Motor has increased prices for select variants of its popular SUVs, the Fortuner and the Legender, in the Indian market. The price revision affects only a limited number of trims, while the features and specifications remain unchanged.

The Fortuner 4x2 variants saw the steepest rise, with prices going up by Rs 68,000. Additionally, the diesel manual and automatic versions of the Fortuner 4x2, along with the Fortuner 4x4 diesel manual, have been hiked by Rs 40,000 each.

Similarly, the Legender 4x4 diesel manual and automatic models have undergone a price increase of Rs 40,000.

The Fortuner lineup offers a choice between a 2.7-litre petrol engine and a 2.8-litre diesel engine. These are mated to either a six-speed manual or torque converter automatic transmission. Following the price adjustment, the Fortuner’s ex-showroom price starts at Rs 36.05 lakh and ranges up to Rs 52.34 lakh.

Recently, Toyota launched the Fortuner and Legender Neo Drive editions featuring a new mild-hybrid technology. Both models now incorporate an advanced 48-volt system, which includes a belt-integrated starter generator and a lithium-ion battery. This system assists the 2.8-litre turbo-diesel engine to improve fuel economy and enhance driving smoothness.

Toyota claims the Neo Drive variants deliver quieter engine operation and better low-end torque response due to hybrid assistance. The Fortuner Neo Drive 48V is priced at Rs 44.72 lakh, while the Legender Neo Drive 48V is available at Rs 50.09 lakh, ex-showroom.

The company has not altered the feature list in the newly priced variants, keeping the equipment and specifications consistent with previous models.
