Production of both models will stop in the next quarter
According to Elon Musk, production of the Model S and Model X will be stopped in the next quarter. He indicated to customers that if anyone wants to buy these models, now is the right time, as their manufacturing will be almost completely stopped afterward.
Existing customers will receive full support
However, despite the cessation of production, Tesla has assured existing Model S and Model X customers that they will continue to receive service and support. The company will continue to provide necessary support for customers who use these vehicles for a long time.
The Fremont factory will get a new role
This decision will free up production capacity at Tesla's Fremont factory in California. According to Musk, the manufacturing space currently used for the Model S and Model X will now be converted into an autonomous production facility. Under a long-term plan, the Fremont plant will be transformed into an autonomous factory hub capable of producing approximately 1 million Optimus Robots annually.
The possibility of Model S and X entry into India ends
With this decision, the chances of launching the Model S and Model X in India have virtually ended. Tesla started selling the Model Y in India this year, and the company's global focus will now be on the Model 3, Model Y, and Cybertruck.
