Tata Motors has once again performed miracles with its Tata Nexon which has held its position as the best-selling car in India for November 2025, thus, it is the case for three consecutive months with more than 22,000 dispatches of this model. By selling 22,434 units, Nexon achieved a remarkable 46% growth compared to the previous year and continued to stay comfortably ahead of the Maruti Suzuki Dzire which is ranked second.

The total sales chart reveals a very strong change in the preferences of consumers—SUVs are now the absolute kings. 14 SUVs along with 4 hatchbacks, 3 MUVs, 2 sedans, and 2 vans make up the list of top 25 best-selling cars. Every SUV model enjoyed a growth of 20–50% while only three models had a dip in the sales, indicating that the demand is recovering very strongly and widely.

Top Performers of November 2025

1. Tata Nexon – The Undisputed Leader

  • 22,434 units
  • 46% growth YoY

Nexon again demonstrates the reason for being the most sought-after SUV in India, owing to its improved features, reasonable price, and strong brand loyalty.

2. Maruti Suzuki Dzire – A Remarkable Comeback

  • 21,082 units
  • 79% growth YoY

The Dzire is still ruling the sedan segment and has one of the highest growth rates in that group.

3. Maruti Suzuki Swift – Still a Fan Favorite

  • 19,733 units
  • 34% growth YoY

The Swift is still living up to its title as a household name, performing well even with fierce competition.

4. Tata Punch – Entry-SUV Champion

  • 18,753 units
  • 21% growth YoY

Punch enhances Tata’s position in the SUV market and attracts first-time buyers.

5. Hyundai Creta – Mid-SUV Segment Leader

  • 17,344 units
  • 12% growth YoY

Creta is still the star model of Hyundai, and it retains its top position in the midsize SUV segment.

Maruti Suzuki’s Broad Presence

Apart from Dzire and Swift, Maruti has managed to place eight more models in the top 25 list. Some of the notable models include:

  • Ertiga: 16,197 units (+7%)
  • Wagon R: 14,619 units (+5%)
  • Eeco: 13,200 units (+25%)

On the other hand, a few models suffered from challenges:

  • Brezza: 13,947 units (-7%)
  • Baleno: 13,784 units (-15%)

The sales drops in these cases indicate increased competition in the compact SUV and premium hatchback categories.

Mahindra and Its SUVs Claim More Market Share

Mahindra remains committed to the SUV segment with five models in the top 25 all being SUVs. The top-selling vehicles are:

  • Scorpio: 15,616 units (+23%)
  • XUV 3XO: 10,601 units (+38%)
  • Bolero: 10,521 units (+49%)
  • Thar: 10,234 units (+18%)

Although the XUV700 has fallen behind by 32% to 6,176 units, it is still occupying a position among the winners. This reduction is interpreted as a part of the transition period preceding the launch of the new Mahindra XUV 7XO.

SUVs Still Dominate India’s Car Market

The data from November 2025 highlights SUV’s strong and gradually growing dominance in the Indian car market. Buyers seem to be inclined towards the models like compact, midsize, and lifestyle SUVs that are giving them savings along with the other factors like presence, practicality, and performance offered by full-fledged SUVs.

With Nexon taking the lead and competitors closely following, the Indian auto market is preparing itself for an exhilarating 2026.
