Royal Enfield gearing to fortify its market base in Telangana

Hyderabad Royal Enfield (RE), a multinational motorcycle manufacturing company is planning to deep root its business in the State of Telangana. The motorcycle has great demand not only from Hyderabad but also in local markets across the State.

According to motorcycle brand, over the last two years, it has recorded tremendous growth in Telangana.With its still counting investment in the state it has developed wide retail presence with over 100 stores and more than 80 studio stores. The brand has more than 17 per cent market share in the 150cc plus segment in the state, out of which the RE Classic motorcycle contributes to a significant 72 per cent of sales.

Jayapradeep Vasudevan, National Business Head (South & East), Royal Enfield, said:"Telangana is one of the key markets for RE in India. We are seeing an active community engagementdriven by the base we have created in Hyderabad.We will be adding more 10-12 outlets in Telangana as soon as possible which will be dealer-owned outlets and this format has proved best for us. We also have more than 60 'Service-on-wheels' bikes in the region."

He also stated that the company has plans to expand its business to electric vehicle (EV) category and added that there are teams working on the same.

The new offering from the Royal Enfield, the revamped Classic 350 combines the design with modernand refined ride experience. It draws its power from a single cylinder, 349cc, air and oil cooled engine, which generates a power of 20.2 bhp at 6100 rpm and a torque of 27Nm at 4000rpm.

The bike is available in five variants with 11 colours, beginning with the Redditch series priced starting at Rs 1,84,374.The Halcyon series priced at Rs 1,93,123, the Classic signals priced at Rs 2,04,367, the Dark series priced at Rs 2,11,465, and the expensive variant of all, Classic Chrome is priced at Rs 2,15,118.All prices are in-respect to ex-showroom, Hyderabad.
