Porsche has taken its flagship 911 Turbo into the hybrid era, debuting the 2026 Turbo S at the Munich Motor Show with 701 horsepower, a 0-60 mph sprint in 2.4 seconds, and a Nürburgring lap 14 seconds quicker than its predecessor.

The latest Turbo S, part of the 992.2 generation, adopts the “T-Hybrid” setup first seen in last year’s Carrera GTS. A 1.9-kWh lithium-ion battery sits in the front compartment, while an electric motor is placed between the flat-six engine and eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. Unlike the single electric turbocharger in the GTS, the Turbo S features twin electrically assisted turbochargers.

The electric motors can spool the turbos instantly, eliminating lag and removing the need for wastegates by using braking energy to recharge the battery or power the traction motor. The system produces 701 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque, marking a 61 hp increase over the previous model while retaining identical torque.

With all-wheel drive as standard, the new Turbo S becomes the most powerful road-legal 911 yet, surpassing even the GT2 RS. Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control, powered by the 400-volt system, manages anti-roll functions for sharper handling. Braking is handled by carbon-ceramic discs measuring 16.5 inches at the front and 16.1 inches at the rear, paired with new pad material.

The sports exhaust now uses a titanium muffler, and wider 325/30R21 rear tires replace the previous 315 section to balance the added weight and power. The front retains 255/30R20 tires, framed by wider fenders.

Aerodynamic revisions include active grille shutters, a deployable front diffuser, and a rear wing that together reduce drag by 10 percent in efficiency mode. Exterior and interior elements are finished in “Turbonite,” a new shade exclusive to Turbo models. Center-lock wheels and optional carbon-fiber wiper arms are among new customization features.

Despite weighing 180 pounds more than the outgoing Turbo S at 3,829 pounds, the coupe recorded a Nürburgring Nordschleife lap time of 7:03.92, demonstrating significant performance gains.

Pricing starts at $272,650 for the coupe and $286,650 for the Cabriolet, reflecting increases of over $30,000 from the previous generation. Porsche noted that tariffs on imports could further raise prices in key markets.
