Maruti Suzuki India Limited reported a strong 19.3% year-on-year rise in vehicle production for February 2026, driven largely by a sharp increase in utility vehicle output, according to a regulatory filing made on March 1.
Maruti Suzuki India Limited recorded robust production growth in February 2026, with total vehicle output rising to 223,507 units, compared with 187,414 units produced in the same month last year. The figures reflect a year-on-year growth of 19.3%, underscoring strong operational momentum during the month.
The company disclosed the production data in a regulatory filing under Regulation 30, signed by Executive Officer and Company Secretary Sanjeev Grover. The filing was submitted to both the National Stock Exchange of India and the BSE Limited, in line with statutory disclosure requirements.
Overall Production Performance
Passenger vehicles accounted for the bulk of the output, with production totaling 219,612 units in February 2026, up from 183,999 units a year ago, marking a growth of 19.4%. Light commercial vehicle production stood at 3,895 units, registering a 14.1% increase over February 2025.

Passenger Cars Performance
The passenger cars segment (mini and compact categories) produced 103,867 units in February 2026, marginally lower than 104,947 units in the year-ago period. The mini segment, which includes Alto and S-Presso, showed notable growth, with production rising to 15,783 units from 12,198 units last year. Compact car production remained broadly stable at 88,084 units.
The mid-size segment, represented by the Ciaz model, reported no production during the month, compared to 2,900 units in February 2025.
Utility Vehicles Drive Growth
Utility vehicles emerged as the key growth driver, with production surging to 102,834 units in February 2026, compared with 66,647 units a year earlier. This segment includes popular models such as Brezza, Ertiga, e Vitara, Fronx, Jimny, XL6, and other OEM models.
Vans and Commercial Vehicles
Van production, led by the Eeco model, remained stable at 12,911 units, slightly higher than 12,405 units produced in February 2025. Light commercial vehicle output, primarily from the Super Carry model, contributed 3,895 units to the overall tally.
The company stated that the production figures were disclosed to ensure transparency in reporting operational performance, in compliance with applicable regulatory norms.
