Maruti Suzuki Opens Bookings for MPV Invicto at Rs 25,000; Set to Launch on July 5
Maruti Suzuki has announced the commencement of pre-launch bookings for its latest premium 3-row multi-purpose vehicle (MPV), Invicto. Interested customers can secure their booking by paying an amount of Rs 25,000, as stated in a filing with the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). The official launch of the Invicto is scheduled for July 5, 2023. This introduction will allow Maruti Suzuki to expand its product lineup and cater to a broader customer base.
According to the company, the Invicto will combine the characteristics of both an MPV and an SUV, making it an appealing choice for customers seeking a robustly built vehicle with comfortable seating, ample cabin space, and spirited performance.
Maruti Suzuki aims to introduce its own version of the Toyota Innova, which is currently the top-selling premium MPV in the Indian market. In 2017, Toyota and Suzuki forged a global alliance, enabling them to leverage each other's products and technologies to enhance sales and mutual benefits. As part of this collaboration, Toyota sells the Glanza and Urban Cruiser models, which serve as alternatives to Maruti's Baleno and Brezza, respectively.
The upcoming premium MPV from Maruti will be positioned above their popular MPV, the Ertiga. While both the Innova and Ertiga serve similar purposes as MPVs, they cater to distinct customer segments due to significant differences in price brackets. The Innova's base model starts at an ex-showroom price of Rs 20 lakh, whereas the base model of the Ertiga is priced at Rs 8.64 lakh, ex-showroom.
With the launch of the Invicto, Maruti Suzuki aims to tap into the growing demand for premium MPVs in the Indian market. The company anticipates that the Invicto's unique blend of features and capabilities will attract customers seeking a versatile and comfortable vehicle for their transportation needs.
