Maruti Suzuki Achieves Record-Breaking Monthly Sales of 199,217 Units in October

Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) reported its highest-ever monthly sales in October 2023, with a total of 1,99,217 units sold, which represents a 19 percent year-on-year growth compared to the 1,67,520 units sold in October 2022. This achievement demonstrates a strong performance for the country's largest carmaker.

Additionally, MSI achieved its best-ever domestic monthly dispatches in October, with 1,77,266 units sold, marking a 21 percent increase from the 1,47,072 units sold in the same month of the previous year. Within the domestic market, the passenger vehicle segment also witnessed significant growth, with sales increasing to 1,68,047 units last month, compared to 1,40,337 units in October 2022.

Specifically, sales of mini segment cars, which include models like Alto and S-Presso, declined to 14,568 units, down from 24,936 units in October 2022. However, the compact car segment, which includes models such as Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, Ignis, Swift, Tour S, and WagonR, saw a rise in sales to 80,662 units, up from 73,685 units in the same period of the previous year.

The utility vehicle segment, consisting of models like Brezza, Grand Vitara, Ertiga, and XL6, experienced a substantial increase in sales, with a 91 percent surge to 59,147 units in October 2023, compared to 30,971 units in October 2022.

In terms of exports, Maruti Suzuki reported that it shipped 21,951 units in October 2023, an increase from 20,448 units in the same month of the previous year, reflecting a growth in international sales.

Overall, Maruti Suzuki's strong performance in October 2023 indicates a robust demand for its vehicles, contributing to the company's record-breaking monthly sales.
