Mahindra Thar Roxx: New ex-showroom prices revealed after GST rate reduction, making the SUV more affordable across India.
Following the cut in the GST rates, Mahindra has slashed pricing for all variants of its famous SUV- the Thar Roxx. The ex-showroom prices with effect from September 6 will range pan-India from 12.25 lakh to 22.06 lakh, marking it a little more affordable than before for the buyers.
Price Reduction Highlights
The petrol variants have become cheaper by up to 1.18 lakh. The minimum reduction of 74,000 goes to the very base MX1 RWD MT petrol variant. The diesel variants have received equally handsome price cuts, with the fully loaded AX7L 4WD diesel-automatic variant now cheaper by 1.33 lakh.
GST on SUVs over 4 metres in length with engine capacities in excess of 1,500 cc was earlier 48%. This rate is now made 40%, thereby inducing a fair amount of price reduction in petrol as well as diesel variants.

Why the Price Cut?
Previously, the Thar Roxx was subject to 28% GST plus 20% compensation cess, a total of 48% tax for 5 door variants. Now, after the reduction in the GST, SUVs over 4 metres with above 1,500 cc engine capacity are taxed at a flat 40 percent, thus bringing down the cost of both petrol and diesel models.
Since When Are The New Prices In Effect?
The revised prices were made applicable for all bookings and delivery from September 6, 2025, even before the Central Government's formal notification on September 22, 2025. With festive season offers running, this is deemed to be the perfect time to hug a new Thar Roxx.

The Mahindra Thar Roxx comes up directly against Force Gurkha 5-door and Maruti Jimny while doubling up as a more-off-road option vis-a-vis compact SUVs like Hyundai Creta, Volkswagen Taigun, Maruti Grand Vitara, Honda Elevate, and Citroen Aircross.
