Kia's latest unveil Caren to have six standard airbags

Auto brand Kia motors has unveiled in India its latest Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV), the Carens, which the company says has been designed for modern Indian families, is a comfortable and spacious three-row seater with the longest wheelbase in its class.

New Delhi, Dec 16: Auto brand Kia motors has unveiled in India its latest Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV), the Carens, which the company says has been designed for modern Indian families, is a comfortable and spacious three-row seater with the longest wheelbase in its class.

One of the primary features of the vehicle, is the inclusion of six airbags, making it one of the safest vehicles in India, as per Kia Corporation. The newly launched variant is also a connected car that comes with a first in India Hi-Secure Safety Package as standard across all trims.

At the unveiling of Kia Caren, Ho Sung Song, President and CEO at Kia Corporation, has said that the Kia Carens is set to create a completely new segment and industry benchmark for family vehicles with its bold design, high-tech features, and industry-leading safety systems.

"Kia is especially honoured to launch Carens in India, where new ideas and innovations are taking shape. We are confident that the Kia Carens will deliver meaningful experiences to modern families both in their daily and leisure life," Mr. Ho Sung Song said.

According to the South Korean auto manufacturers, the Caren series will be available in diesel and petrol variants to its customers and is equipped with features such as the sliding type seat under tray, retractable seatback table, the rear door spot lamp and the bottle and gadget holder in the third row, and many more passenger friendly features.

Additionally, it has the 26.03 cm HD Touchscreen Navigation, BOSE Premium Sound System with 8 speakers, Smart Pure Air Purifier with Virus and Bacteria Protection, Hi-Secure Safety Standard Package - (6 Airbags, ESC+VSM+HAC+DBC+ABS+BAS, All Wheel Disc Brakes Standard across all trims), among other interior aspects.

Tae-Jin Park, Managing Director and CEO, Kia India, said, "India is diverse, and the people here have different preferences. It's safe, feature-rich, has artistry in its design, and is comfortable and classy; it packs everything a modern Indian family would want in their vehicle. The Carens, in all aspects, is another true customer-centric offering from Kia."

On the exteriors of the vehicle, Kia has said that the car carries an SUV like outer design, along with Crown Jewel Headlamps, R-16 – 40.62 (16") Dual Tone Crystal Cut Alloy Wheels, Chrome Rear Bumper Garnish with Diamond Knurling Pattern, and more. The Kia Carens will be available in India as well as selected markets starting from the first quarter of 2022, in three colours, Imperial Blue; a low saturation Moss Brown; and Sparkling Silver with metal particles.
