Kawasaki has been readying the ground for the 2026 Z900RS, thereby intensifying its retro-sport lineage with the amalgamation of classic aesthetics and contemporary engineering. The primary event for the bike will happen in January 2026, with the Indian launch expected to follow by the end of the year. The details regarding the pricing are still under wraps.

The 2026 Z900RS still has the same 948cc inline-four engine, but it is now fitted with Electronic Throttle Valves (ETV), which makes throttle response smoother and control more precise. The power output of the engine now stands at 116 hp and 98 Nm of torque, which means there is an increment of 5 hp over the preceding version.

All the six-speed gear ratios have been changed for better holding at low speed and quick changeovers. Furthermore, a megaphone-shaped exhaust system together with new header pipes has been launched by Kawasaki to not only improve the sound quality but also the retro styling.

Contemporary electronics are the main attraction of the new Z900RS. The bike comes equipped with an IMU-based feature that together with the Kawasaki Cornering Management Function (KCMF) constantly varies the braking power and the power delivery as per the lean angle. Riding amenities that are offered as standard now include cruise control and a bi-directional quickshifter, giving the rider a further smoothness of experience in both towns and countryside.

The top-end SE version gets the better of the company’s already good-quality front brakes by getting them upgraded to Brembo, and it also gets an Ohlins rear suspension with remote adjustability. Thus, the ride can become more comfortable for the rider's liking and he can also enjoy strong braking performance.

Ergonomics are now more invitingly as the standard seat height has been set at 835mm with an optional low seat at 810mm thus allowing more riders to use the bike. The Z900RS has a vintage twin-pod instrument cluster, however, it now also provides smartphone connectivity through Kawasaki’s Rideology app, which permits digital monitoring of the ride data and notification alerts in the very same way.

Kawasaki has not only changed the look of the bike but also made it more attractive to customers by introducing new paint schemes and finishes like the Fireball and the Blackball patterns. The use of metallic highlights and the incorporation of the famous Z900RS graphics give it a classic look but at the same time a modern one.
