Bentley Motors has set a new milestone at the iconic Goodwood Festival of Speed, as the Bentayga Speed claimed the record for the fastest internal combustion engine (ICE) SUV to complete the hill climb.
Veteran Bentley driver Andy Marson completed the course in 55.8 seconds despite slick and rainy conditions, showcasing the vehicle’s raw acceleration and handling under pressure. During the run, the Bentayga Speed reached speeds up to 209 kmph before decelerating sharply at the challenging Molecomb corner.
The SUV’s performance is powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine producing 650 horsepower and 850 Nm of torque. It can sprint from 0 to 98 kmph in 3.4 seconds and has a top speed of 310 kmph.
Contributing to its precise control, the Bentayga Speed is equipped with features such as SPORT chassis mode and ESC Dynamic. These systems enhance responsiveness and allow for greater cornering confidence. The addition of all-wheel steering improves maneuverability at lower speeds and increases stability at high velocities.
Optional carbon ceramic brakes provide high-performance stopping power, while the design includes large wheels (22- or 23-inch options), dark exterior detailing, and subtle Speed badging.
