AP bags Rs1k-cr worth 19 agro-processing projects

New Delhi: Andhra Pradesh has bagged maximum, 19 out of the 44, projects under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan SAMPADA Yojana (Scheme for Agro-Marine Processing and Development of Agro-Processing Clusters). At a recent meeting of the Project Approval Committee (PAC), chaired by Food Processing Industries Minister Pashupati Kumar Paras, 44 of the 56 proposals received were cleared.
The Food Processing Industries Ministry had received 56 proposals, three of which were later withdrawn by the applicants, official sources told Bizz Buzz. The Technical Committee (TC) evaluated all the proposals and recommended 44 proposals as eligible. The PAC accepted the TC's recommendations.
Based on the TC's parameters, Devi Fisheries Limited, East Godavari, got the maximum score of 95 among all the 44 proposals. The total project cost of this shrimp project is Rs105.49 crore. It is eligible for a grant of Rs20.07 crore, but this is restricted to Rs15 crore. So, it will get Rs15 crore as grant. It is the biggest project of the lot.
Lakshay Enterprises of Chittoor will set up a project with a total project cost of Rs35.82 crore; the mango project will be eligible for a grant of Rs14.91 crore. The Rs40-crore mango project of GCR Foods and Beverages Private Limited is also in Chittoor. It is eligible for a grant of around Rs11 crore. These are the only two non-shrimp projects, sources said.
Other Andhra projects are: the project by Co-Foods ProcessoRsPrivate Limited, Krishna, with a cost of Rs45.62 crore and eligible grant of Rs13.32 crore; by Rajyalakshami Marine Exports, East Godavari, with total cost of Rs49.25 crore and grant of Rs11.15 crore; Adivishnu Marine Foods Private Limited, East Godavari (Rs35 crore and Rs10 crore, respectively); Devi Sea Foods Limited, West Godavari, Rs75.2 crore and Rs10 crore); Falcon Marine Exports Limited, Nellore (Rs59.91 crore and Rs10 crore); and Sai Manvick Sea Foods, Nellore (Rs40.43 crore and Rs10 crore).

Ltd, Nellore (Rs95.16 crore and Rs10 crore); Sandhya Marines Limited, West Godavari (Rs72.1 crore and Rs10 crore); Annam Marine Exports Private Limited, Guntur (Rs51 crore and Rs10 crore); and Allegiance India LLP, Krishna (Rs26.14 crore and Rs5.72 crore).
