Hyderabad Energy and Mobility entity, Amara Raja Batteries Ltd (ARBL), on Friday said it has been awarded Gold at the Confederation of Indian Industries' CII-SR EHS Excellence Awards in recognition of the company's adherence to the most stringent environment, health and safety practices.

C Narasimhulu Naidu, Chief Operations Officer, ARBL, said: "I am incredibly proud of the success our teams have achieved on such a prestigious stage. This award not only reinforces our belief towards EHS best practices but also showcases the culture at ABRL that allows us to cultivate unique, people involvement practices and motivational factors and replicate safety models and sustainable initiatives that meet the highest EHS standards."

The award is testament to the world class, sustainable environment, health and safety (EHS) practices followed by ARBL. The company's has accelerated environmental stewardship and transparency commitment throughout its growth with each passing year, the company said.

According to ARBL, the company was the sectoral topper in the auto components vertical. It is among the 20 companies to have been bestowed with this honor from a total of 194 participants.

The awards were instituted to acknowledge the contribution of companies towards conserving critical environmental resource, handling occupational health and hygiene issues, promoting best practices in safety and facilitating innovative and efficient management practices in the EHS space.
