Visakhapatnam: Billed as a gala jamboree of investors from all over the world, the Andhra Pradesh Government with general elections just little over a year away, is all set to roll out a red carpet welcome to the delegates attending the first edition of Global Investors' Summit (GIS) at the sprawling Andhra University Engineering College Grounds here on Friday.

This being the biggest event being organised by YSRCP Government to attract investors, an air of festivity prevails in the city with several hoardings, welcome arches and colourful banners and festoons put up at various locations. The residents' welfare associations, hotels and commercial establishments have also decided to illuminate their buildings so as to pep up the ambience.

With top industrialists scheduled to land in at least 25 private jets and chartered aircraft special arrangements have been made for landing at certain designated places as the Visakhapatnam International Airport has limited space for parking bay of incoming and outgoing flights. Security in the city has been tightened mainly in the vicinity of the venue, five star hotels where Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and top honchos of the corporate world will be staying.

Traditional delicacies from all the three regions of Andhra Pradesh and a colourful drone show to demonstrate plus points of 'Advantage Andhra Pradesh Where Abundance Meets Prosperity' Campaign at the erstwhile MGM Theme Park on the beachfront are being organised on Friday evening.

GVMC and VMRDA have decked up the city with greenery and massive window-dressing to make the stay of the investors very pleasant. Arrangements have also been made to take the investors on conducted trips to the places of their choice in and around Visakhapatnam to give them a first-hand experience on the natural splendour of the Eastern Ghats and the City of Destiny endowed with the beauty of hillocks and beaches.

After reviewing the arrangements before the arrival of the Chief Minister, who will leave the city after the GIS valedictory on March 5th evening, TTD Board Chairman and YSRCP regional coordinator SV Subba Reddy said all arrangements for the GIS are completed with registration of over 14,000 delegates. He said the Chief Minister himself will have B2B meetings with select industrialists.

Industries Minister Gudivada Amarnath said "Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy is our brand to promote investments as the industrialists are feeling that they can ground projects at the fastest possible time without any hassles."

The State bagged No. 1 slot in EDB continuously with the YSRCP Government announcing its resolve to further reduce the time for clearances for new projects from 21 days under the Single Window System.
