Agreement for indigenous development of gas turbine blades signed HAL, Navy

Visakhapatnam An agreement for indigenous development of gas turbine blades was signed between Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Koraput and INS Eksila on Friday.

The pact was signed during a visit to the HAL facility by Rear Adm IB Uthaiah, CSO Tech ENC.

The agreement is expected to further Atmanirbart in the overhaul of Talwar Class Cruise Gas Turbines by the Indian Navy.

Offering HAL assistance in the indigenous development of air-cooled fas turbine blades, Pramod Kumar, Executive Director stated that this niche technology would enable the blades to sustain temperatures in excess of 1,100 deg C.
