ICICI Bank requires a credit score of 750 or above to approve credit cards and personal loans, the bank's website shows.
Credit scores indicate repayment history and default risk. Eligibility criteria differ by product but include an annual income threshold of Rs 250,000, salaried or self‑employed status, a debt‑to‑income ratio and a credit history spanning six to 12 months.
Individuals with scores from 650 to 749 may qualify for certain cards at lower limits and with additional conditions. ICICI Bank also issues the Instant Platinum Credit Card secured by a Rs 50,000 fixed deposit, which does not require a credit score.
The Reserve Bank of India advises borrowers to track credit scores to manage liabilities and avoid overleveraging. Lenders also consider credit utilization, payment history and number of active accounts in underwriting.
ICICI Bank issues co‑branded cards for shopping, fuel and travel, including Amazon Pay, HPCL SuperSaver and MakeMyTrip, as well as a Manchester United Card.
Applicants should review requirements on the bank's website or contact customer support.
