Why No Trailer or Showtimes Yet? The Mystery Behind Narivetta’s Telugu Version Delay

In an unexpected twist, Narivetta, the highly anticipated political action thriller starring Tovino Thomas, did not release in Telugu today despite official promises of a simultaneous multilingual launch. While the film premiered on schedule in Malayalam and Hindi, the Telugu version, titled Narivetta: Thodelu Veta, remains absent from theatres in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
No theatres have opened bookings, no trailer has been released for Telugu audiences, and the distributor, Mythri Movie Distribution LLP, has stayed silent on the matter. This delay has left many fans in the Telugu states disappointed, especially as Tovino’s popularity continues to rise with his recent performances.
Directed by Anuraj Manohar and inspired by the 2003 Muthanga incident, Narivetta delves into themes of state violence and tribal resistance. The film stars Tovino Thomas alongside Suraj Venjaramoodu and Cheran, with an evocative score composed by Jakes Bejoy. It is produced by Tippu Shah and Shiyas Hassan under the Indian Cinema Company banner.
While a handful of theatres in Hyderabad are screening the Malayalam version, Telugu-speaking viewers remain in the dark, eagerly awaiting an official update on whether and when the film will release in their language.
