Whistleblower’s wife thanks Kim Won Bin for silent support amid audio leak, brutal attack

The controversy surrounding South Korean actor Kim Soo Hyun has escalated dramatically, drawing in the FBI and shocking the public with fresh allegations and a violent twist.

The storm began when a deeply troubling audio recording was released during a press conference led by attorney Bu Ji Seok and Garo Sero’s Kim Se Ui. The audio, allegedly recorded with the consent of late actress Kim Sae Ron, details her sexual relationship with Kim Soo Hyun—reportedly starting when she was just 14. The file also mentions Soo Hyun’s derogatory nickname for a then-idol girlfriend and offers disturbing insights into their past.

The recording was reportedly submitted by a Korean whistleblower based in New Jersey, known publicly only as “Mr. A.” The whistleblower is said to have handed the evidence to the controversial YouTube channel Garosero Research Institute. Just weeks after Kim Sae Ron’s death, Mr. A was brutally stabbed nine times in the neck in what is now being treated as an attempted murder by U.S. authorities. Two suspects—one Korean and one of Chinese-Korean descent—have reportedly been arrested.

"This is no longer just a Korean celebrity scandal. It’s a serious international case now under FBI jurisdiction," Garosero claimed during the press conference. They also stated that the whistleblower sustained severe nerve damage in one hand, leaving him disabled.

Kim Won Bin’s Quiet Role Raises Questions

Surprisingly, actor Kim Won Bin’s name has also surfaced—this time in a more compassionate context. According to the whistleblower’s non-Korean wife, who broke her silence in a second audio recording, Won Bin extended discreet but meaningful support during their family’s most harrowing moments.

“I didn’t know who Won Bin was at first… He came quietly. He showed respect. That humanity meant more to us than we could ever have imagined,” she shared emotionally. She added that their family had been under constant threats and intimidation, even involving their young daughter.

She also revealed that her husband had refused a ₩4 billion settlement (approximately $3 million USD), which was allegedly offered in exchange for burying the incriminating audio file.

Kim Won Bin, known to have helped Kim Sae Ron financially during her DUI scandal, has not made any public comments about his involvement. This has led many to wonder if his support stems purely from goodwill or a deeper connection to Sae Ron, with whom he had worked during her early career.
