The ninth season of Bigg Boss Telugu is gearing up for its premiere on September 7 at 7 p.m. on Star Maa, with live streaming available on JioHotstar. Actor Akkineni Nagarjuna will once again take charge as host, continuing his long association with the show since season three.
Nagarjuna, who has hosted both regular and OTT editions, is returning for the eighth time. Reports indicate that he is being paid about Rs. 30 crore for the season.
The theme for this year is titled Ranarangam (battlefield), with the tagline “Eesari Chadarangam Kaadu, Ranarangame,” highlighting a shift in tone from strategy to direct confrontations inside the house.
For the first time in Telugu Bigg Boss history, the makers have introduced a double-house concept. The new setup is expected to bring unpredictable challenges and an increased level of competition among participants.
Ahead of the premiere, the Agnipariksha pre-show is being hosted by Sreemukhi. Bigg Boss alumni Abijeet, Bindu Madhavi, and Navdeep are judging the event, which will decide the entry of selected commoner contestants into the main house.
The contestant lineup for season nine features a wide mix from film, television, and social media. Among the names circulating are actresses Asha Saini and Sanjana Galrani, choreographer Shrasti Verma, comedian Emmanuel of Jabardasth fame, playback singer Ramu Rathod, influencer Ramya Moksha, and actors Suman Shetty and Bharani Shankar.
The combination of celebrity participants, commoner entries, and a two-house format positions Bigg Boss Telugu 9 as one of the most experimental seasons yet.
