The much-anticipated sequel to Vijay Deverakonda’s 2025 action thriller Kingdom has been officially shelved. Producer Naga Vamsi confirmed that the franchise will not continue, putting to rest speculation about a second installment.
Speaking to Idlebrain, Vamsi stated, “Yeah, there is no Kingdom 2.” When asked if the original film was intended as a standalone, he added, “There is no point talking about it, other than hurting Gowtam.” Despite shelving the sequel, Vamsi reassured fans that his collaboration with director Gowtam Tinnanuri will continue. “He is working on a different film now, and after that, we will do another project together,” he said.
Vamsi also revealed that he and Gowtam have completed another film titled Magic, which has wrapped production but is yet to be released.
Kingdom, directed by Tinnanuri, starred Vijay Deverakonda alongside Satyadev Kancharana and Bhagyashri Borse. Originally known as VD12 during development, the film followed a conflicted police officer forced to confront his own inner turmoil during a high-risk undercover mission.
Meanwhile, Vijay Deverakonda is set to return to the action genre with Rowdy Janardhana, slated for a 2026 release.
