Vijay Deverakonda Hospitalized Ahead of Kingdom Movie Release

Actor Vijay Deverakonda, who plays the lead in the upcoming film "Kingdom," is currently undergoing medical treatment after being diagnosed with dengue, delaying his participation in the film's promotional events.
Sources close to the production confirmed that Deverakonda has been admitted to a private hospital in Hyderabad. Medical staff and family members are overseeing his recovery. The actor is expected to remain under observation until at least July 20.
"Kingdom," a spy-themed action film directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, is set for a nationwide theatrical release on July 31. Promotional campaigns were expected to intensify this week, but Deverakonda’s illness has altered the schedule. No official word has been released on whether he will resume public appearances once discharged.
The movie, set in a post-Independence Sri Lankan conflict zone, portrays the transformation of an ordinary man into a leader defending his people. Bhagyashri Borse and Satyadev co-star, and music is scored by Anirudh Ravichander — marking his first collaboration with Deverakonda and a reunion with Tinnanuri.
Despite the health setback, production and distribution teams confirmed that the film's release remains unaffected. Streaming rights were acquired by Netflix for approximately Rs 50 crore, signaling strong pre-release demand.
Following "Kingdom," Deverakonda is slated to begin work on multiple projects. He will next team up with director Rahul Sankrityan for a yet-untitled period film, tentatively called "VD14." He is also committed to "SVC59," helmed by Ravi Kiran Kola.
No delays are expected in these future productions, although timelines could shift depending on Deverakonda's recovery.
