With a mild concussion, Tom Holland sustained an injury while filming Marvel's Spider-Man: Brand New Day in Glasgow-the unfortunate incident brought production to a temporary standstill.

Set Incident

Reportedly, the accident was due to a stunt going awry; however, Tom was not severely hurt. He was carried to the hospital as a precaution and is now on sick leave.

The rest of the cast and crew went free from injury. The shooting has been stopped for a few days, and hence the scheduling will be changed accordingly.

About Spider-Man: Brand New Day

  • It started in Glasgow in August 2025
  • Release Date: Scheduled for July 2026
  • Director: Destin Daniel Cretton (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings)

The film introduces a new classic Spidey suit, with raised black webbing on a vibrant red-and-blue pattern, somewhat reminiscent of the pattern worn by Tobey and Andrew Garfield. Holland gave fans yet another teasingly brief look from behind the scenes with a cheeky, "We ready?"

There's a Starry Cast

Besides Holland, the movie also witnesses the return of Zendaya and Jacob Batalon, with Liza Colón-Zayas, Tramell Tillman, and Sadie Sink making themselves newcomers.

Marvel Giants Mark Ruffalo (The Hulk), Jon Bernthal (The Punisher), and Michael Mando (The Scorpion) have also been confirmed to be part of the cast, expanding the Spider-Man universe within the MCU.

Holland and Zendaya

Even with a swift medical upset, Holland made headlines outside. He was recently spotted in London with Zendaya, making it a rare public outing for the duo.

The Summary

Tom Holland's injury has adversarially caused a delay for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, with the actor's recovery slated to be speedy. Given the bloated cast and fresh design for the third suit, with Destin Daniel Cretton directing, all comparison to Spider-Man's July 2026 release is immense.
