Things changed after the birth of Raha - Ranbir Kapoor Said 'No' To Ramayana First.
Ranbir said the offer came to him four years ago, speaking at a Question and Answer during the New York special IMAX trailer screening.
Ranbir Kapoor revealed he initially declined the film Ramayana, but his perspective shifted after the birth of his daughter Raha, influencing his decision to take on the epic project.
The big big-ticket project Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi in the lead roles. It will open its first teaser tomorrow in India. In New York, the makers hosted a special teaser preview of the film a few days ago. During a Q&A session, Ranbir Kapoor shared that he primarily rejected role the Ramayana offer. However, after the daughter Raha's birth, Ranbir rethink on his decision.
Speaking more details at a Question & Answer session during the New York special IMAX teaser screening, Ranbir said the offer of the movie four years ago.
He said, "Coming to play Lord Ram, I remember when Namit offered me this part around four years back. My instant reaction was: 'I am not fit enough, good enough.' I felt I wouldn't be able to do full justice. But that fear quickly turned into gratitude because opportunities like this were something I truly needed in my life".
He added that playing Ram coincided with quite transforming phase in his personal life.
Ranveer said, "There was a period when I needed to change career decision. My parenthood turned my decisions completely. The sweet possibility of playing Lord Ram and becoming a father became a turning point in my life.
In November 2022, Ranbir Kapoor and his wife Alia Bhatt welcomed the first girl child, daughter Raha Kapoor.
Ranbir also shared “My preparation rightly began the day I first watched Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayana. Its impact is quite deep ingrained in us that Lord Rama’s journey fills us with pleasure. Portraying about the revered figure demands absolute honesty, as he is cherished by billions and will stay so for generations to come”.
