Pawan Kalyan’s They Call Him OG continues to dominate the box office, crossing the ₹300 crore mark worldwide in just 13 days. The high-octane gangster drama, directed by Sujeeth, has emerged as one of the biggest Telugu blockbusters of 2025, even as its momentum slightly slowed following the release of Kantara: Chapter 1.

Strong Start, Solid Run

The film opened to massive hype, collecting an impressive ₹21 crore in previews on September 25, followed by a record-breaking ₹63.75 crore on its opening day. Despite a 71% dip on Friday (₹18.45 crore), They Call Him OG managed to maintain its grip through the first weekend, earning ₹18.5 crore each on Saturday and Sunday.

By the end of week one, the total box office stood at a robust ₹169.3 crore, with the Telugu version alone contributing ₹164.75 crore — a testament to Pawan Kalyan’s unmatched popularity in the region.

Week Two: The Slowdown Begins

In its second week, OG’s collections saw a gradual decline, bringing in ₹7.4 crore on Monday and ₹6.75 crore on Wednesday, with a small rise to ₹7.7 crore on Thursday. The weekend numbers dipped further — ₹4.75 crore on Friday, ₹4.6 crore on Saturday, and ₹4.15 crore on Sunday.

By the end of Day 13, the film had added ₹1.34 crore, taking its total to ₹300+ crore globally.

A New Milestone for Telugu Cinema

According to the makers, the movie has officially crossed ₹300 crore worldwide, making it the highest-grossing Telugu film of 2025 so far. It has surpassed the total earnings of Sankranthiki Vasthunam (₹255.2 crore) and HanuMan (₹295 crore).

With this, They Call Him OG now eyes the next big target — Allu Arjun’s Pushpa: The Rise, which earned around ₹350 crore.

Production house DVV Entertainment celebrated the milestone on X (formerly Twitter), calling OG “the highest-grossing Telugu film of 2025” and releasing a special celebratory poster.

However, trade analysts note that the release of Rishab Shetty’s Kantara: Chapter 1 has impacted OG’s box office run, diverting a portion of the audience’s attention.

The Story, Cast, and What’s Next

They Call Him OG stars Pawan Kalyan as Ojas Gambheera, a mysterious gangster returning to India to settle old scores. The film also marks Emraan Hashmi’s Telugu debut as the ruthless antagonist Omi Bhau.

The ensemble cast includes Priyanka Mohan, Prakash Raj, Arjun Das, Sriya Reddy, Shaam, Harish Uthaman, Rahul Ravindran, and a special cameo by Jackie Shroff.

At a recent fan event, Pawan Kalyan confirmed that both a sequel and a prequel to They Call Him OG are in development — hinting at the creation of an “OG cinematic universe.”

Final Verdict

Despite the slowdown, They Call Him OG remains a box office powerhouse, driven by Pawan Kalyan’s stardom, Sujeeth’s slick direction, and high-octane action sequences. The film’s strong hold in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana proves that OG’s reign is far from over.

As the dust settles, one thing is clear — Pawan Kalyan has once again proven why he’s called the Power Star of Telugu cinema.
