The biggest fight for audiences during the long Christmas weekend is the Telugu film industry. The holiday season gives filmmakers a great chance to lure in cinema-lovers even before the reviews or the buzz around the movie have gotten to full strength.

All four films, Shambhala, Champion, Dhandora, and Eesha, are going after Christmas weekend audience shares for their respective brands. Along with simultaneous release on December 25, Shambhala and Champion have their hands in heavy promotion to make the best out of the holiday window.

Shambhala is the lead horror-fantasy film that draws huge visual effects to lure in the audience of thrillers who love to see movies that are visually driven. The notion of the film, Champion, however, revolves around the life of Roshan Mekha in an action drama produced by Ashwini Dutt and set in Telangana. Although the genres of both the films have been doing well with the audiences, the popularity of the films can be increased further with a good song being there in the movie.

Dhandora has a trailer out, and Shivaji, the lead actor has shown curiosity with the caste politics and death themes, thus hinting at a bold narrative choice. On a similar note, Eesha, which has Hebah Patel as the lead and Bunny Vas as the producer, is being marketed as the movie for mature audiences and is pulling the attention with its unusual premise.

These new releases are coming in at a good time considering the current box office situation. Movies like Dhurandhar have finished their main runs, and Avatar 3 and Akhanda 2 have only received the attention of moderate responses at best. Thus the path is clear for Shambhala, Champion, Dhandora, and Eesha to come in and capture the audience looking for new and refreshing holiday entertainment.

The long weekend will bring a significant increase in footfalls, and the industry observers will be eagerly reading the success of films among the Telugu audience. The occurrence of festivals simultaneously is a clear indication of the trend where mid-budget films are taking advantage of the holidays by releasing their films.
