The Telangana government has reinstated its official film honors after a 14-year break, introducing the awards under a new name — the Gaddar Telangana Film Awards — as a tribute to the late revolutionary poet and balladeer Gaddar. The list of winners was released on Thursday, ahead of the ceremony set for June 14 at HICC, Izzatnagar, Hyderabad.

A panel of 15 members, headed by veteran actor Jayasudha, reviewed 1,248 nominations across a range of categories that included mainstream features, documentaries, children’s films, and technical departments.

Feature film winners included Kalki 2898 AD as best film. Pottel secured second place, while Lucky Baskhar came third. Committee Kurrollu was awarded for national integration, and 35 Chinna Katha Kadu was named best children’s film. Razakar won in the environment, heritage, and history category. Debut director recognition went to Sri Yedu Vamsee for Committee Kurrollu, and Aay… Mem Friends Andi was recognized for providing wholesome entertainment.

In the individual honors, Nag Ashwin won best director for Kalki 2898 AD. Allu Arjun was named best actor for Pushpa 2, while Nivetha Thomas took the best actress title for 35 Chinna Katha Kadu. Supporting roles were recognized with SJ Suryah (Saripodhaa Sanivaaram) and Saranya Pradeep (Ambajipeta Marriage Band) winning in their respective categories.

Music categories included Bheems Ceciroleo winning best music director for Razakar. Sid Sriram was named best male playback singer for “Nizame Ne Chebutunna” from Ooru Peru Bhairavakona, while Shreya Ghoshal received best female playback singer for “Sooseki Aggi Ravva” from Pushpa 2. Comedians Satya and Vennela Kishore shared the award for their performances in Mathu Vadalara 2.

Child artist awards went to Arundev Pothula (35 Chinna Katha Kadu) and Harika (Mercy Killing). Siva Paladugu was awarded for story writing in Music Shop Murthy, while Venky Atluri won best screenplay for Lucky Baskhar. Chandra Bose received the best lyricist award for Raju Yadav.

Vishwanath Reddy won best cinematography for Gaami. Navin Nooli received the editing award for Lucky Baskhar. Audiography was recognized through Aravind Menon for Gaami. Ganesh Acharya was awarded best choreographer for the song “Ayudha Puja” from Devara.

Art direction went to Adnithin Zihani Choudhary for Kalki 2898 AD, while action choreography was credited to K Chandra Shekar Rathod for Gangster. Makeup and costume design awards went to Nalla Sreenu (Razakar) and Archana Rao with Ajay Kumar (Kalki 2898 AD), respectively.

Special jury honors included Dulquer Salmaan for his role in Lucky Baskhar, Ananya Nagalla for Pottel, Sujith and Sandeep for KA, and Prashanth Reddy with Rajesh Kallepally for Raju Yadav. A special mention was given to Faria Abdullah for her performance in the song “Drama Nakko Mama – Rap” from Mathu Vadalara 2.

In the literature category, the award for best book on Telugu cinema was given to Mana Cinema First Reel, authored by Rentala Jayadeva.
