Tamannaah Bhatia Calls Viral Instagram Reel Like a Glitch After Virat Kohli Incident

Actress Tamannaah Bhatia has addressed the online buzz surrounding her alleged like on a viral Instagram reel that appeared to support Deepika Padukone following the actress's exit from director Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s upcoming film Spirit.

Tamannaah shared a video on her Instagram Story and wrote:

"Can Instagram please figure out how it likes pages on its own cause random people are making this news and I really have work to do."

The reel in question celebrated women who challenge social biases. It featured Deepika Padukone shutting down a reporter’s question implying Ranveer Singh had financially backed her film Chhapaak. The reel was captioned:

"Propaganda she is not falling for: Disrespect, men, sexism, gender pay gap, working overtime, unprofessionalism, misogyny, and double standards."

This incident follows a similar situation involving cricketer Virat Kohli, who allegedly liked a fan-shared photo of actress Avneet Kaur. He later clarified the action was unintentional and attributed it to an algorithmic error:

"I'd like to clarify that while clearing my feed, it appears the algorithm may have mistakenly registered an interaction. There was absolutely no intent behind it."

Adding to the speculation, director Sandeep Reddy Vanga posted a cryptic message on X shortly after actress Triptii Dimri was announced as Deepika’s replacement in Spirit. Vanga’s message hinted at disappointment without naming anyone:

"When I narrate a story to an actor, I place 100% faith. There is an unsaid NDA between us. But by doing this, you've 'DISCLOSED' the person that you are... Putting down a younger actor and ousting my story? Is this what your feminism stands for?"

Deepika Padukone's departure from Spirit has sparked headlines, with reports citing issues over remuneration and alleged unprofessional behavior.

Spirit is an upcoming pan-India action drama featuring Prabhas in the role of a fierce police officer. The film is currently in pre-production and is produced by T-Series and Bhadrakali Pictures. It marks Prabhas’s first collaboration with both Triptii Dimri and Sandeep Reddy Vanga. Vanga previously worked with Dimri in the 2023 blockbuster Animal.

On the work front, Tamannaah Bhatia, 35, is set to appear in her upcoming project Ranger.
