Suriya 47: Suriya-Jithu Madhavan Film Begins with a Pooja Ceremony

Actor Suriya’s upcoming film with director Jithu Madhavan officially commenced production on Sunday with a traditional pooja ceremony held in Chennai. The project, produced by Zhagaram Studios, is currently being referred to as Suriya 47.

The launch event saw the presence of the film’s cast and crew, along with several industry personalities. Among those attending were actors Nazriya Nazim, Naslen, Anandaraj, and music director Sushin Shyam, who form part of the core team.

The ceremony was also graced by prominent celebrities, including actress and producer Jyotika, actor Karthi, and producers Rajsekar Pandian (2D Entertainment) and S.R. Prakash and S.R. Prabhu (Dream Warrior Pictures).

The film, one of the most anticipated collaborations of the year, marks director Jithu Madhavan’s first project in Tamil cinema. Speaking at the event, he said,

“New industry, new beginning. Working with a star like Suriya adds more excitement. We’re trying something fresh, and I hope the audience embraces it.”

Suriya plays the lead role, with Nazriya Nazim starring as the female lead. Actor Naslen, known for his recent successful performances, will also be seen in a significant role alongside John Vijay and Anandaraj.

The technical team includes Vineeth Unni Palode as the cinematographer, Sushin Shyam handling music, Ashwini Kale as the production designer, and Ajmal Sabu as the editor. Action choreography will be led by Chetan D Souza.

With filming beginning immediately after the pooja, the team has officially entered its first production schedule, setting high expectations among fans and the film industry.
