SS Rajamouli Announces ₹120 Crore Animated Film ‘Baahubali: The Eternal War’; Confirms ‘Baahubali 3’
Filmmaker SS Rajamouli has dropped a massive surprise for Baahubali fans just ahead of the re-release of Baahubali: The Epic. The ace director announced a 3D animated film titled Baahubali: The Eternal War, mounted on a whopping ₹120 crore budget.
The teaser of the animated film will premiere during the intermission of Baahubali: The Epic, which hits theatres worldwide on October 31, 2025. The upcoming re-release combines both Baahubali: The Beginning and Baahubali: The Conclusion into a single 3-hour-44-minute epic cut.
Rajamouli Revives the Baahubali Universe
The whispers had been loud about a tremendous surprise for the Baahubali devotees, Rajamouli now has confirmed the same. In a promotional interview with Prabhas and Rana Daggubati, the filmmaker mentioned,
“It’s not Baahubali 3, but the world has been extended. A 3D animated movie titled Baahubali: The Eternal War has been made by us and its teaser will be previewed during the interval of Baahubali: The Epic.”
Rajamouli further declared that the visuals and the narrative of the animated feature would be on par with the live-action films’ quality.
A ₹120 Crore Animated Spectacle
The director revealed that the film’s production cost stands at an impressive ₹120 crore and praised producer Shobu Yarlagadda for his dedication.
“Shobu has been working tirelessly on this project for over two years,” Rajamouli said.
Hearing the budget, Prabhas humorously added,
“₹120 crore? That was the planned budget for Baahubali 1!”.
The animated feature is being produced in collaboration with the internationally acclaimed animation studio Arcane, promising a world-class cinematic experience.
‘Baahubali 3’ Officially Confirmed
While Rajamouli clarified that The Eternal War continues the Baahubali legacy in a new format, he also confirmed that ‘Baahubali 3’ is officially on the cards.
Both Prabhas and Rana Daggubati were reportedly stunned by the visuals and scale of the animated teaser, hinting that fans can expect another epic chapter in the saga soon.
