Salman Khan’s Sikandar drops 1,100 shows in just three days amid poor reviews

Salman Khan’s much-anticipated Eid release, Sikandar, is struggling at the box office. The film, which opened with over 8,000 shows on Sunday, has lost around 1,100 screenings in just three days due to negative reviews and weak audience turnout.
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Sikandar had 8,000+ shows on its release day. However, the numbers started dropping fast—falling to 7,820 on the second day, 7,333 on the third, and further down to 6,942 by the fourth day. Major cities like Delhi-NCR and Mumbai saw a noticeable decline in show counts, with a reduction of around 200 shows in Delhi and over 250 in Mumbai.
At the box office, Sikandar earned ₹26 crore on its opening day, followed by ₹29 crore on Monday and ₹19.5 crore on Tuesday. As per early estimates, the fourth-day collection stands at ₹3.15 crore, bringing the total to ₹77.65 crore—still far from the ₹100 crore milestone.
The film, directed by A.R. Murugadoss, features an ensemble cast, including Rashmika Mandanna, Kajal Aggarwal, Sharman Joshi, Sathyaraj, and Prateik Babbar. However, despite Salman Khan’s return to the big screen after Tiger 3 (2023), Sikandar has been overshadowed by the recent blockbuster Chhaava, starring Vicky Kaushal, which has already crossed ₹595 crore in domestic earnings.
With declining footfalls and shows being pulled from theaters, Sikandar faces an uphill battle to recover its box office numbers in the coming days.
