Saare Jahan Se Accha, led by a gripping Pratik Gandhi performance, ambitiously explores the high-stakes world of 1970s espionage. Set against the shadow of a potential nuclear conflict, the series details the covert operations of Indian intelligence agent Vishnu Shankar as he battles to foil Pakistan’s weaponization plans.

The show’s launch is strong, drawing viewers in with intense atmosphere and tight plotting. Strong performances—particularly from Gandhi and Sunny Hinduja—elevate the narrative, embodying the tension and moral weight of espionage. However, the series gradually falters: inconsistent pacing, a tonal mismatch across episodes, and underused characters like Tillotama Shome’s Mohini hinder its momentum.

While the early episodes deliver crisp storytelling and a palpable sense of urgency, the later acts retreat into formulaic territory, making the once-compelling spy drama feel overfamiliar. Despite its potential, Saare Jahan Se Accha ultimately struggles to balance authenticity with dramatic flair, making some of its more ambitious narrative beats feel lost in translation.
