Rhea-Sushant Relationship to Hit the Big Screen Soon
Rumi Jaffery to make a film on Sushant Singh Rajput and Rhea Chakraborty’s love story, five years after the actor’s passing.

Filmmaker and screenwriter Rumi Jaffery has revealed his intention to create a film centered on the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput and his partner Rhea Chakraborty. This announcement comes shortly after fans and peers marked the fifth anniversary of the actor’s death on June 14.
Jaffery, known for his work in several popular Hindi films, disclosed that he is currently scripting a feature drawing from the dynamics of Sushant and Rhea’s bond. During a recent interaction with the press, he reflected on his memories of the actor, describing their time together as energetic and intense.
"He was always in motion. There was never a pause with Sushant. Rhea would always be around, grounding that energy," Jaffery recalled. He further shared that the idea for the film had taken root when the actor was still alive.
Describing their relationship as deep and devoted, Jaffery noted, "There was something exceptional about how they were with each other. That emotion stayed with me."
Although early in development, the project is gaining momentum. Jaffery is reportedly eyeing actor Vedang Raina, known for his role in Jigra, to portray Sushant. Casting decisions and production schedules remain unconfirmed.
Rumi Jaffery has previously collaborated with filmmaker David Dhawan on numerous scripts and has directed films such as Chehre and God Tussi Great Ho. His upcoming project is expected to explore the emotional landscape of Sushant and Rhea’s connection, without dramatization.
Rajput, who rose to fame through film and television, passed away in 2020.
