Rana Naidu returns for a high-octane second season with fists and bullets flying, dialing down the crassness while keeping the emotional core intact. Adapted from the American crime drama Ray Donovan, the series follows Rana Naidu (Rana Daggubati), a fixer balancing family loyalty and a dangerous career.
This season, Rana is hired by a ruthless billionaire (Rajat Kapoor) whose children complicate matters with a cricket team acquisition and failed film ventures—reflecting current hot topics like IPL team sales and cinema losses. Rana’s father Naga (Venkatesh) stirs trouble, ensnared by mobsters played by Arjun Rampal and Heeba Shah. Meanwhile, Rana’s brothers and daughter face their own crises, intertwined with Rauf Bhai’s criminal world. His wife (Surveen Chawla) grapples with doubts, while a corrupt politician (Rajesh Jais) pulls strings for his own gains.
While some characters lack menace and a few comedic moments fall flat, Rana Daggubati’s commanding presence as the tough, resilient lead keeps the show engaging. The series remains a fast-paced, action-packed ride with plenty of family drama, promising more rounds of gritty thrills.
