Bollywood actors Rajkummar Rao and Patralekhaa took to Instagram on July 9, 2025, to reveal they are expecting their first child. The announcement featured a charming illustration of a baby cradle adorned with floral designs, captioned simply: “Elated ”.
Within minutes, the post was flooded with congratulatory messages. Close friend Farah Khan wrote "Finally the news is out!! I was having a tough time keeping it to myself. Congratulations,” while Varun Dhawan cheered with “Congratualtionsssssss.” Kiara Advani, Neha Dhupia, Sonam Kapoor, Nushrratt Bharuccha, Soha Ali Khan, Pulkit Samrat, Huma Qureshi, Dia Mirza, Bhumi Pednekar, among others, also shared their warm wishes.
Their Journey Together
The couple first crossed paths on the set of CityLights (2014) and dated for over a decade.
They tied the knot in a heartfelt ceremony at the Oberoi Sukhvilas Resort in Chandigarh on November 15, 2021.
Earlier in 2025, rumors circulated following a cryptic Instagram teaser, but the couple clarified they were not expecting at that time.
Looking Ahead: Careers & Parenthood
Rajkummar is all set to star in the crime drama Maalik, releasing July 11, 2025, and also appears in Netflix’s Toaster. Patralekhaa recently starred in the historical drama Phule, and has upcoming projects titled Suryast and Gulkanda Tales.
The couple also launched their production house KAMPA Films, dedicated to storytelling inspired by their mothers’ initials.
